Good Eats

During my trip to Cali, I had to make sure I stopped by one of the Herbivore locations. The one that I went to is located in Divisadero, San Francisco. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, very clean, and friendly servers. Not to mention they have several baked goods available to take home. Always a plus :)

For appetizers my friend and I both ordered soup and soft tacos:

Soup of the Day

Slightly creamy tomato soup, with spinach and a fresh baguette on the side. I have to say that this was one of the best tomato soups that I’ve ever tried!

Soft Tacos
“Two soft taco shells with beans, guacamole, vegan sour cream and salsa”

OK, I have to admit these were pretty difficult/messy too eat. A bit too much stuffing for such a small tortilla. I had to mix the ingredients pretty well and add a bit of salt, otherwise it was lacking a bit of flavor. Overall, not too shabby!

Caesar Salad
“Romaine, croutons + carrots”

My friend and I were starving at the time and decided to order a salad as well.. I was surprised at how delicious the “caesar” dressing was, yummy choice. We weren’t aware of how large the portions were and by the time our main meal arrived, we were near stuffed. Great prices for the portions!

Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of the main courses :(.. Here is what we ordered. My friend ordered the:
Burrito
“beans, brown rice, guacamole, vegan sour cream, salsa, soy “chikn”, all in a whole wheat tortilla”
This bad boy was HUGE! I definitely did not have enough room to try this dish.. My friend was pleasantly surprised with the “chikn” and said the overall burrito was yummy. (friend is not vegan)
I ordered the:
Curry Coconut Udon Noodles
“Roasted red pepper, spinach, sesame seeds, grilled oyster mushrooms, green onions, cilantro and shredded coconut”
Another large portion dish, but I have to say I was a tiny bit disappointed, it lacked flavor. The mushrooms were somewhat overcooked and there was way too much sauce, it was like a giant plate of soup. I did add tofu to this meal, which actually tasted delicious with the sauce. Overall, this dish was okay.


Vegan Chocolate Cupcake

Before leaving, I couldn’t help but purchase a cupcake to go.. oh my, so glad that I did! It was absolutely delicious.

If I ever go back to California, I will definitely return to this place. Great food and portions for the price.
